Planteray Sealander combines rums from three different islands.
It is a blend of pot still and column rums from Barbados (which add elegance and notes of vanilla), unaged column rum from Mauritius (a grassy and herbal rum made from fresh cane juice) and pot still rum from Fiji (matured in heavily charred barrels, which adds structure and fruity notes to the blend).
The resulting rum was bottled at 40% ABV. Dosage: 20 g/L
Aroma: A subtle but rich whiff of pear, quince, gooseberry with notes of smoked molasses.
Taste: Rich with delicate notes of clover honey, licorice, beeswax, caramel fudge with vanilla and prunes.
Finish: Persistent, with notes of cooked apples, tonka beans and dried banana.
